  • New Classroom Needs Library!

    The new addition to our library was something that I had kept as a surprise from the students, and when they arrived they were all so excited and couldn't wait for the next time they would be able to choose an independent reading book. Thank you all for your support in raising reading excitement and engagement. Students have shared books with each other, asked to borrow them to read at home, made predictions, and planned the books they will be reading next. As students finish one book they are quick to pick another, and that wouldn't have been possible without your help!”

I’m a first-year teacher entering a classroom with very few grade levels and challenging texts. I’m looking to stock our library with graphic novels and a series of chapter books that will excite my students and encourage them to pick up a new book whenever they put one down! Research shows that the more students read, the better they read, and the better they write. And graphic novels are just as valuable as traditional novels in that sense — even sometimes more helpful for students who struggle to get into a book! Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
