Wanting to nurture this independence while giving them the tools to succeed, my wonderful 3rd grade team and I have devised a plan that covers many content areas including tackling discipline with positive reinforcement. We want to build a 3rd grade store. By building our store, our students are not only working to obtain rewards. Our students are learning financial literacy. Although this concept is minimum within our third grade curriculum, financial literacy is a life skill required to be successful in life. Our grade-level store will put our students ahead of the curve.
