  • Mental Health Matters! Regulation Station Under Construction!

    As a result of your overall contribution to the cause, I was able to curate a special section in my classroom reserved for students who are in need of a place to decompress. If one is having a stressful time or day, sometimes the best thing one can do is to take a few moments to disconnect from the surrounding stimulus of the busy environment, gather themselves and rejoin the group when the stress levels have regulated.

    By supplying us with the means to create this self-regulation station, now, my students can do just that. Even when it is not being used as a self-regulation station, students can use the area to work quietly and read silently, complete assignments and to study with minimal immediate distraction.

    Thank you for assisting me in bringing this vision to life-- and within a in a short timeframe! This was an awesome blessing for my classes to enjoy and of which to make use.”

    Thank you for bringing our classroom goal to life by your generous contributions. My students now have a reading center and a growing classroom library. They also have a written guide on mastery of subjects with which to instruct them on how to be responsible learners and obtain mastery of anything they attempt to learn in life. They also have some basic school supplies and organizational tools for the library and classroom in general. These students were in awe of the new materials that came at the very last minute at the end of the year and are excited to be able to use them in the upcoming year in the language education class.”

  • Second Semester Top Off!

    Funded Feb 10, 2024

    Thank you for choosing to help fund our class. With these materials, I was able to teach our students the parts of speech among many other linguistic devices in this class. Furthermore, I was able to do this in a safer classroom environment. By providing hand sanitizer, masks, and facial tissues during the height of the cold and flu season (in addition to residual COVID cases), we were able to participate in classroom learning that was virtually uninhibited by sickness or the risks thereof.

    Furthermore, our students are also able to engage and take notes, with the school supplies that they were given, as most of their supplies were consumables and had been used to the point of replacement but the arrival of the second semester of school. Thank you again for your contributions to these students and making a positive difference in their lives.”

  • Kids on "Board" Will Not Be Bored!

    My students were so excited to utilize the new materials after I unveiled them to the classes that I teach. They were elated and very respectful of the materials after explaining to them how to utilize them properly. I make sure to utilize them just enough so that the experience is novel and unexpected each time, yet often enough so that they remember the rules on how to properly handle classroom materials.

    Most recently, I was able to teach a unit on food, utilizing the chalk and chalkboards. Students were able to create their own menus, come up with their own novel food combinations and decide whether they would be partaking in breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. All this was made possible by your donation. The little ones really enjoyed utilizing the medium to communicate because it made mistakes easier to correct, allowed for a more collaborative environment, and just made the entire experience more colorful and fun over all!

    I am continually finding more ways to incorporate ways to utilize the boards in class to enhance learning, especially through COVID. I keep extraneous talking to a minimum during class time, so this definitely helps. When students ask to go to the restroom, they (of their own volition) write it on the boards and hold it up, which helps by not interrupting everyone in attendance of the lesson. So maintaining focus on the task at hand is facilitated by these tools for which, on behalf of all members of the class and myself, I am greatly appreciative.”

These chalkboards will make a tremendous difference this year in checking for quick learning in the classroom. The teacher can see which students are on task by having the student write a quick response, having the student hold up the board and the teacher modify instruction accordingly. In taking precautions with social distancing, each child will have their own board for which they are responsible. No need to share markers to write on the dry erase board up front! Also, this may be an augmented assist with classroom management and students feeling like they are not being heard through their masks this year. This eliminates the frustration of having to over articulate, repeat incessantly, have students YELL over the restrictive fabric, etc. We can literally SEE and SHARE learning taking place inside the classroom!
