Students with communication difficulties will be able to communicate using a communication board and other applications on the iPad. Although some children may not use their voice to speak this does not mean they are unable to communicate. Technology can help us unlock this communication barrier. Many of my students have difficulty attending and sitting throughout a speech session/ the school day. Utilizing an iPad to present speech materials can help them remain engaged and elicit language. All students should have access to this technology in order to communicate basic needs.
