  • Super Star Speech Rewards For Diligent Students

    On behalf of the students at A.X. Benavides Elementary School, thank you for your generous donation. They have been loving their reward stickers and reward certificates.

    They truly feel a sense of accomplishment when they "graduate" from speech therapy after receiving their colorful certificates. My students are highly motivated to try their very best during sessions in order to receive the coveted "smelly sticker." They are encouraged and immediately rewarded for their hard work. Thank you once again for putting smiles on their faces.”

  • Speech Therapy Engaging Library

    Thank you for your generous donation. My student enjoy listening to the books I read to them. They are used during speech therapy sessions to provide students with common knowledge about a particular topic. This enables discussion and helps with the students' interpersonal communication skills.

    The vivid pictures spark conversation and provide visual stimuli while my students formulate their thoughts and ideas. The books are the perfect springboard for ideas. My students especially love the holiday themed books and the animal books. Thank you very much.”

  • Sensory Learning for Special Needs Students

    My special needs students use the paint sticks and pastels during speech therapy time to create works of art. They are engaged in therapeutic activities all the while perfecting their speech and language skills.

    My students are amazed at the beautiful artwork they can create with a different medium they had never used before. One of my students said, "These are so smooth! They are awesome!" as he worked on a Pete the Cat coloring activity. They frequently request to use the materials I received from Donors Choose for speech therapy.

    They are also learning unintentionally how to share materials, take turns, and request items. They look forward to speech therapy sessions involving these materials.”
