  • Computer Programming in 5th Grade!

    I have not seen my students as excited as the day we received our donations from Donors Choose! They couldn't believe their eyes! They were so excited to see the iPad and Apple TV Receiver. When they found out it's for them to use in the classroom to enhance their learning of computer programming...they couldn't believe their ears! You have truly made a difference in our classroom with your very generous donations. We have already started using the iPad with the stylus pens in the Keynote Application, and they are having so much fun when they are "in charge."

    WOW! Thank you so much for your generous support of our classroom. We are diligently using our NOOKS and camera. We read and research everyday, take candid pictures to download, and learn as we move along. Your support has helped my students to be more engaged in learning, willingly participate in classroom activities, and have more self-confidence while doing their work.

    Without your help, my students would never have had these vital up-to-date technological devices to further advance their learning and resolve the challenges they faced. The camera helped to capture real-life scenes and include the images in reports. Visual aid is an important factor for English language learners.

    My class and I were very excited to find out our project was funded! We are ever so grateful for the generous donations. It all became real to us when we received the colored laser printer. We have done numerous classroom projects such as reports, essays, poetry, and completed long term projects. We are using the colored laser printer frequently to have a more color-rich friendly environment in our classroom.

    Our school is currently facing a major budget shortfall, so without your help, my students would never have had these vital resources.

There is limited access to technology and online access in the classroom. We have a very dedicated group of staff members willing to try new intervention programs and techniques to make sure every student meets the appropriate grade level standards. With the involvement of the community, every child can have the necessary tools to access the technology of the 21st century.
