ESL Students as Visual Learners
Funded Sep 15, 2017THANK YOU for bringing my project to life. Organization is always key in many ways, especially in a classroom. Having technology that works is also a BIG plus! The Teaching Cart with bins and hanging storage space is very handy. it is easy to move around in the classroom, even if a student is doing the pushing of the cart. The bins are used to organize library books by level. The Student of the day chart is hanging right by the door and the students love it! They are in charge of maneuvering the stars and selecting the students.
The students were so excited to receive a classroom gift... It was like Christmas in the middle of September! They asked a lot of questions wanting to know who sent the gifts? and why they sent the gifts? So I explained the details about Donors Choose, its donors, the process, and I even read your messages to them. They asked me to give a shout out of many "Thank you's!"
Every year I teach a series of financial literacy lessons to my students. With the lessons I was able to access from PWC, I followed grade level appropriate lessons. They seemed to be effective and engaging. I'm looking forward to write another Donors Choose project! Thank you once again for your support.”

Mrs. Arutyunyan
Immigrants Ready to Learn!
Funded Jul 18, 2017We started off the year with a BANG! The supplies donated to my classroom were ready for all the newcomers into 4th grade. The library was full of the books neatly organized in bins, the art projects with aprons and bags were displayed to trigger excitement, classroom management cards were put into action so that transitioning from a new country would not be too confusing for the English Language Learners.
All of these could not have been possible without the support of donors like you! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. My students and I are gracious for your generosity and support.
THANK YOU!”

Funded May 26, 2017THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! YOU made this project come to life in our classroom!
Listening and speaking is a critical part of learning. The Nikon camera and portable speaker have been set up as a listening and singing station, as well as an "express yourself" station. At the listening and singing station, students listen to stories and songs and repeat them to boost their listening and speaking confidence. The express yourself station allows them to create scenes, take and print pictures, and later write a descriptive narrative about the scene.
The addition of technology has already given my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of listening & speaking, creative expression, and writing. Students who are confident in their listening and speaking abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education and the workplace. Thank you for your generous contributions to promote the learning and successes of our future leaders!”

Funded Mar 28, 2017Thank you for your continued support of your future leaders! My students were in awe when we received our iPad Pro pens! Our students are eager young learners that want to learn and make a difference in their community. Your contributions will be an aid in teaching them to use the technology we have just received.
These iPad Pro Pens will open up new ideas for our students in using it for a variety of reasons: daily morning news, coding skills, technology, writing, research and much more! The two iPad Pro pens are only the beginning to implement something this important for our students. Thank you!!!”

Funded Feb 23, 2017I would like to start off by saying THANK YOU for bringing my classroom project to life. Financial literacy is so vital in education in this modern day and age. What better way to teach our youth than with the use of modern technology! With your generous donations, my classroom benefits from having a MacBook Air and all its necessary components to learn and thrive. We are excited with all the learning that will be occurring. Funded Mar 15, 2016Thank you so much for your assistance in bringing technology into our classroom! The 21st century is the new age of technology. We, as educators, need to make sure that our students are ready to tackle the new style of education. Technology is used in my classroom daily. We use chrome books, cameras, iPads, printers, projectors, and laptops. The students conduct research, print projects, and type reports.
The Osmo game will be the newest addition to our classroom technology system. It will enhance critical thinking skills as well as provide a visual and hands on approach for problem solving. Since most of my students receive some sort of intervention and resource services, they will truly benefit from the additional technology added into our classroom. Thank you for your donations and continued support!”

Funded Oct 23, 2015It is with great gratitude that I write this letter. I am so blessed to have Donors Choose in assisting teachers like myself. My students were amazed and in complete awe when we received this laptop. They called it a "mini laptop" because of its size! My students have already begun to use the laptop by logging on to code.org. On code.org, they learn computer programming. This program is designed to help them with critical thinking and problem solving skills they need across the curriculum. They are more motivated than ever to continue their learning on this Apple laptop! Thank you!”

Financial Literacy For Us!
Funded Oct 1, 2015I cannot express the gratitude my students and I felt when we received the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with the cover and pen. We have already begun to experiment and go onto financial literacy websites to test our device and it works GREAT! It it so easy to use and pass on to other groups in the classroom. The pen allows for multiple students to use the device at the same time. My students are excited to learn more and more everyday thanks to your generosity. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and minds!”
