Making Marvelous Mathematicians!
Funded Sep 20, 2022I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous donations. Because of you, I am better equipped to help my students grow and learn. My students were thrilled to see exciting and colorful new resources that they could use every day. The magnetic hundreds chart has proven to be an extremely valuable tool for my students in grades K-4. We use it for number identification and counting in grades K and 1, adding and subtracting in grades 2 and 3, and multiplication and skip counting in grade 4. The write-on/wipe-off number lines have also come to be of great importance while teaching students how to add, subtract and round. The rainbow colored abacus is much loved by K, 1 and 2 for counting and adding. The magnetic write-on ten frames and number bond chart has been essential for every grade I work with in a number of ways. And the magnetic base ten blocks have been useful and helpful for teaching grades 2 and 3 how to regroup (carry/borrow). Thank you for helping me to better assist my students with their learning needs. Your kindness and generosity is greatly appreciated by my students and by me!”

Funded Sep 23, 2021This beautiful rug is a very important part of our classroom. It is our cozy spot for our daily read-alouds and small group instruction. We also use the rug daily during social studies to go along with the grade 4 curriculum.
When the rug arrived it was a big deal!! We knew it was coming and anxiously awaited its arrival. The custodians delivered it and everyone was so excited to see it. I had told them that some very generous people helped us to get this rug and I told them a little bit about each donor. We made a spectacle out of the big reveal, slowly unwrapping and rolling out the rug. There were many oohs and ahhs and even some applause. The students were so impressed by the bright colors and fun graphics on the rug. They were also so curious to learn about all the different states and capitals along with the main attractions from each state.
In grade 4, the social studies curriculum is based on map skills and Untied States regions and geography. The rug has been an integral part of teaching this concept. We are constantly referencing the rug and referring to it. The rug shows every states name as well as the location and name of each capital. It also shows a compass rose as well as bordering countries and bodies of water. This map has been such a great tool while learning about our country. We are so grateful for the generous donations of all who contributed.”
