Our school garden's goal is to provide our students what might be their first opportunity to dig into soil and watch a plant grow. We hope that with participation in active gardening it will influence our students to continue to have environmental attitudes and actions as well as respect for nature well into adulthood. The garden will contribute to our students' knowledge of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is achieved not just by eating healthy, but also the physical activity of digging, planting, and weeding the garden. Academically, our school garden will provide our students hands-on learning activities through scientific methods. Our scholars will participate in real-life experiences that will contribute to their comprehension and retention of new science knowledge and increasing their science achievement scores.
