  • Representation Through Diverse Books

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

    Thank you so much for contributing to my classroom library! My students were thrilled to see so many books with stories they could relate to. It also allowed us to highlight books that told with strong female characters, celebrate AAPI month and celebrate pride month to end our school year. This project has inspired my students to go to the classroom library and select their own independent reading books.

    This will continue to have a great impact next year as we continue to encourage independent reading both in the classroom and at home.”

  • Student Incentive Prizes

    Thank you so much for supporting my project! With your help we were able to add prizes to our classroom store. In our school we use a positive behavior system in which students earn points that they can use to buy prizes from our store. With your support we were able to stock our store and motivate our students to earn points.

    Our students were incredibly excited to see our prizes. They were excited to open sticker packs celebrating their culture. They also loved the array of fidget toys they could choose from. Our students have taken ownership of the store by helping us unbox and put away the prizes. They also help determine the pricing of each prize that is fair and attainable.

    Our classroom store has allowed many of our students to take on leadership positions that have helped maintain our positive reward system. Our next steps are to continue receiving feedback from the students about what prizes they would like to see in the store. We will continue to keep our store stocked and provide prizes for our students! It is a great joy to reward our students for their incredible work ethic and grit.”

This year students will earn points through the app Classdojo and will be able to "buy" prizes using the points they earn. Help us to fund amazing prizes that will show our students we appreciate their hard work. We have chosen prizes such as fidget toys, snacks, pens and vinyl stickers. As we navigate returning back into the building, it is incredibly important to have students feel loved, supported and feel seen. Using a point reward system allows all students to feel appreciated and reaffirmed in their work.
