Students can't learn if they can't access their materials, and in 2021 that means utilizing online resources and textbooks. If their chromebook dies before lunch, they are left without those resources for the rest of the day. Help me keep them learning all day long by providing my students and those in the rest of the Social Studies department classrooms a back up system.
All of our kids are given chargers, but over time many fail and their families cannot afford to replace them or to buy extras to send to school. Sometimes they are broken or lost, sometimes they are borrowed but not returned. Whatever the reason, our district does not provide classroom teachers with any extras so we can't help our kids unless we buy them with our own money.
Sometimes the kids make a mistake, but often their chromebook just runs out of power before they run out of hours in the school day. Your donation will go directly to creating a set of chargers that can be shared both in my classroom and with my fellow Social Studies teachers so that kids will have a way to continue working.
