All of the books that I have chosen are books that help teach and guide children to be more aware of their own actions and how their actions will effect others around them. All of the books teach life and social skills needed for a person to work with others and understand their own emotions and needs. Children that do not understand or know what to do with their own emotions tend to lash out in anger and stay confused and angry. When children do learn how to understand their emotions, they are much more capable of controlling their actions and they will have higher self-confidence. If children are aware of their feelings at a younger age, they will grow up to be adults that are aware of their own feelings and others emotions and needs. In school, students that are aware of their emotions and have strategies to use for coping, tend to do much better in school and want to learn and help others. I would like to see a society of compassionate adults that are confident and like themselves enough to be aware of others, and have the ability to show empathy and kindness to all. All that we are as adults begins with what we are taught as children. Please help me build the foundation for a compassionate society for our future.
