These math manipulatives will help my students who are kinesthetic learners to concretely manipulate fractions using magnets. It will give them the chance to work with fractions in a different way than what they are receiving in their general math class. Many of my students have goals to achieve within a years time and these magnetic fraction manipulatives will encourage the confidence and learning to do so.
Additionally, nearly three quarters of my students will benefit from the 100's cube manipulative's, they will greatly help my students in being able to learn place value, counting, addition, and subtraction while working on their math goals.
The Cricut and laminator will continuously be used to make further manipulatives that cannot be bought but rather made at will. They will also be poignant in the creation of student inspired classroom themes and art projects throughout the year. The laminator will specifically be used to help save and display student work long term. Students will be given two different projects to work in small groups to contribute in 'STEM inventions' to display around the room and school using the Cricut.
The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be beneficial to my students in giving them unique lessons both virtually and kinesthetically. Some of these lessons/activities will allow for scaffolding to help all students access the curriculum.
