It's Meeting Time
Funded Dec 31, 2023My students and I would love to thank you for the support received as we worked to get a new carpet for our classroom. The covid-19 pandemic showed how important it is to keep our space from each other and have our own spaces. I requested this carpet so that my students no longer have to sit one on top of the other, and mention how they were touching each other or that someone else was on their spot.
Moreover, after receiving our new carpet, we have been engaged in learning without interruptions. Now each student has their own spot "square" to seat on. They know exactly which is their square. Now, they also have a good spacing between each other and we no longer have to worry about being too close.
Thank you for all that you do for teachers and for contributing to my classroom!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rivas

Funded Sep 4, 2021Thank you for your support in making sure that my students receive the books they needed to learn how to read. At the beginning of the school year in September, my students did not yet know how to read. We received the books for our Kindergarten class for levels A-D. They began to borrow the books from our library and add them to their book baggies. These book baggies go home everyday and they were able to use those books in their home language so that parents can also read the books for the children.
Moreover, we have been learning how to identify key details in a text by using the words and pictures in the books. Since the books we received are Kindergarten level, the children are able to work on those skills by using the pictures throughout all the books we received. These illustrations also help the students to retell a story by using those key details.
Lastly, the students also have their harmony hangout in which they can use comfortable cushions to seat and read a book.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rivas
