Let's Give Every Student a Chance to Jump!
Funded Oct 28, 2022Thank you so much for the class set of jump ropes! We have had a great time getting our heart rate up and working on our jumping skills.
My students have worked as partners to count how many jumps they are able to do. We have practiced jumping forward and backwards.
It has been exciting to see my students' faces when they have finally been able to accomplish a front jump or a backward jump. It has also been great to hear the words of encouragement they extend to their partner jumping.
We have also gotten to play relay games using the jump ropes. As a final PE assignment for the end of the year the class will create their own PE games. Now, they will have the opportunity to include jump ropes in their games!
Thank you from this year's class and from my future classes!”

Gooaall! Gooaall!
Funded Dec 27, 2022Thank you again for your support. The soccer balls, pump and cones are greatly appreciated. The students have been able to practice kicking a ball with control. They have been able to work together to support their success with this content standard. Most importantly, they have been so excited for these new materials and are eager to use them regularly!
What has surprised me the most is the ownership the students have taken of our new class materials. I have students who have had issues behaving positively with one another all year. These same students have productively worked together to fill up all of our soccer balls and discussed if there was enough air in them. They have also continued to maintain our soccer balls and have regularly checked, together, to see if more air is needed. It has been amazing to witness these positive interactions.
Thank you again!”

Excited About Research and Reading!
Funded May 3, 2022Thank you again for your support. The books that you helped provide my students were greatly appreciated. The students were able to read an entire chapter book, inquire about a person, take notes, answer questions and write an informational article about their person. They then presented their person to the class. The class, in turn, was excited to hear from their peers about the person they had researched.
With this set of books, my students had an opportunity to choose the person they were reading. As they had a choice, their excitement for the book was noticeable. Throughout the weeks of reading the students were actively engaged in their books. They would regularly come up to me to say, "Did you know...?" and give me a fact that they had just read about their person. This excitement was very rewarding, as it is not something I always see when students are reading texts. In turn, their informational articles were the strongest writing samples that the class produced all year.”
