Some children absolutely love going to school, but so many others do not. When children are given choices in where or how to learn, they are more likely to be actively engaged in the learning process. I encourage my students to be problem solvers. If something is not working, offer a solution. Where should we hang our anchor charts so that everyone can see them easily? Which classroom jobs do you want to have and why? Where do you want to spend independent learning time? Flexible seating options are a way for students to have a voice. Students are given many choices in my classroom.
