Through a variety of hands on activities and role-play, students will acquire knowledge and experiences that will help them determine if a career in counseling and mental health is a good fit for them. Part of this includes the importance of understanding how coping skills alleviate stress and redirect the mind. Puzzling, adult coloring, origami, crafting, journaling and mindfulness are all proven, positive coping skills. It is essential for students to put these coping skills into practice themselves so that they can understand the benefits and be able to incorporate them into their lives and future careers.
