This is the first year EVER Farmington Public Schools is offering a remote program to their students. I am so excited to be able to start the music program for students grades 1-4. I cannot wait to see them evolve as musicians. I am requesting tambourines for equitable access to instruments that will help them to grow as musicians while learning remotely. Learning music online presents a unique set of obstacles, one being equitable access to materials. Many students don't have instruments at home. My goal with this project is to give my remote students access to musical instruments they would have access to if they were learning in my in-person music classroom. Music is extremely interactive. Being able to interact with music through instruments can be instrumental (pun intended) in a student's development as a musician. These tambourines will be used with students in fourth grade as part of a drumming unit. I have teaching materials ready, but now just need your help to get these materials in the hands of students!
