  • Kindness Squad

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Community service is one of the best ways to teach a child the value of empathy. It teaches them to show kindness, compassion, and selflessness. Community service builds ties. When serving others we become aware of our surroundings and the people we encounter in our daily life. I know that with this type of exposure my students will become compassionate and caring. Thanks to your kind donation we were able to make Kindness Squad t-shirts that we get to wear whenever we serve those around us. Some of the community service projects we have been able to do was clean our playground, welcome new students to our school with a gift bag, cheer our peers on as they arrive to school in the mornings, make bookmarks with affirmations for our peers, and heart attack some of our teachers. Community service has always been a part of my life and it taught me so many great lessons which is why I created this project so that I could give my students that same experience. Thank you Tanana for allowing me to create a sense of community within our classroom and give my students the confidence to engage in doing acts of kindness for the students of our school and our community.”

  • Reading Loft

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

I knew that an addition this big to our classroom was going to be exciting. My goal was to get my student excited to want to read on our reading loft. I did not realize how much it was going to motivate my students' to want to read. Thank you for being so willing to donate to this project and to make my students' excited about reading. Our classroom reading nook has become so cozy and who doesn't love to read a good book and be comfortable? Now that my student have a comfortable place to read with a collection of well-organized, high-interest books to choose from, they have become more engaged in their reading. On a daily basis my first graders are asking to do our Accelerated Reading(AR) program so that they can get the chance to be in our loft. I am grateful for your contribution because now that my students are more excited about reading they will become stronger readers in the process. Thank to Panda Cares for matching donations along with the Donors Choose community for donating on behalf of Latinx Heritage Month. Because of amazing donors like you I was able to create a space that my students get excited to read books in.”

  • I've Been Framed! (Part 2)

    Funded Aug 3, 2023

Like always, I am amazed at how kind the Donors Choose community and my family and friends are. Thank you for allowing me to give my students the opportunity to express themselves creatively and for allowing me to give them a chance to display their work with pride. This project was one that I was hoping would have an impact on my students, and it did. This project helped my students sense of belonging in our classroom. It is so fun to see the kids stop and take a look at their work. I love that they stop and talk about each others artwork. It is so sweet to see them give each other compliments on how well they did. This project has really helped my students build a sense of connection with their peers. Thank you for allowing me to create a deeper and more meaningful sense of learning in my classroom.”

  • Green Thumbs!

    Funded May 5, 2023

I am always so grateful for your willingness to give. Thanks to you we get to learn about the life cycle of a plant using these fun Tickle Me plants. Planting these seeds was so fun. My students really enjoyed watching the soil expand when they added water to their soil pods. The excitement on my students faces was priceless. My students are beyond excited to see their tickle plants grow! Once again, thank you for your kind donations. Because of you I have been equipped with resources to confidently teach STEM concepts to my students. Your support to our classroom is greatly appreciated.”

  • Books and Incentives

    Funded Feb 13, 2023

Thank you again for being so willing to donate to our project. Without your generosity we would not have been able to achieve so much. Since having the claw machine my students have been working so hard to earn points to get to their 75 point reading goal. I was hoping that the claw machine would motivate them to want to read more. It did exactly that! All my students have been working so hard to earn their points. Thank you for allowing me to motivate my students in a fun way. In this project I was able to get some books to help my students reach their goal and that helped immensely as well. The rolling cart in this project was to help organize our snacks and avoid my students digging through a bin when trying to get a snack. With the car I have been able to organize the snacks better and it makes snack a lot easier for both the students and myself. Once again I would like to thank all the donors for being so willing to donate to this project. It means the world to me to have so much support but most importantly I am so grateful to have others that care as much as I do about my students education.”

  • Let's Transform - Part 2

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us replenish our supplies for our awesome classroom transformations. Our classroom transformations are not only fun but they are super engaging. It is also something that my students look forward to and keep them coming back to school. My goal with these days is to get my students to love school and thank to you I am able to do that. Thank you for helping up get some magazine holders, they have been a life saver for our book shelf. It has kept our books organized and and looking neat. We not only use our whiteboard markers for our transformation days but we also use them on a regular basis. The balloon pump has been nothing but a life saver for our classroom transformations. We definitely blow up a lot of balloons for our classroom transformations! Once again I want to thank you for being so willing to help our classroom. It means so much to me but it especially means so much to my students.”

  • Foamnasium Couch

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

This has been a life saver. Our reading nook finally feels like a nook thanks to this couch. My students who have some back issues have a comfortable place to sit when it is time for us to read. It has also been so great for when my students choose flexible seating during our AR (Accelerated Reading) time. Thank you for being so willing to donate to our project. We have been grateful to finally have some comfortable seating for our reading nook. Thank you for caring about my students as much as I care about them.”

  • Christmas Around The World

    Funded Nov 18, 2022

Where do I even begin! This has to be one of my top favorite projects. Thank you for being so willing to help us execute this project. The impact this project had on my students was tremendous. They absolutely looked forward to every single country we were learning about. They loved learning new traditions, trying to new foods, and looking at custom or traditional artifacts. I know that teaching my students about other cultures helps them become empathic and teaches them tolerance. My goal with this project was for my students to learn how to be open-minded and accepting of other cultures and I loved to see how my first graders embraced it. Thank you for allowing me to teach my students about different parts of the world in such a fun way. We got to make english paper crackers and got to try some delicious panetonne from Italy. This is something I will definitely be doing year after year.”

  • Organized To Ease The Mind

    Funded Nov 21, 2022

Oh how grateful I am for this project. I know how important it is to be organized. Organization reduces stress and unwanted chaotic behavior. Since having these organizers our classroom has been running a lot smoother. Some of the students have tables and some have desks that can be hard for them to keep organized on their own which is why they are flipped. The students now have all their belongings in the organizer and when it is time for them to get their stuff they know exactly where things are. These organizers have helped with routine and keeping things clean. Desks can be hard for first graders to keep clean and these organizers has really helped with that. Once again thank you being so willing to help our classroom. Without donors like you we wouldn't be able to do it.”

Welcome to our class! This class is full of learning but also full of joy. We try our best to have a good mix of learning but also while having fun. This is a bunch of first graders that love to learn and are always so excited to come to school. I love teaching first grade and I sure do love my students. Although times are difficult, there are still amazing supporter of the education system that are kind enough and willing to help out my students. For that I am eternally grateful. As you take a look at our projects please consider helping us out! No donations is too small! I really do appreciate your generosity and for considering our projects. My students mean the world to me and if it means that I can give them the best education I can give them, I will do that. Ultimately I could not do that without amazing and supporting donors like you. Thank you for considering our class.
