In a preschool special education classroom students learn through hands on play activities with blocks and manipulatives, many of the students are currently nonverbal. Using toys like the ones that are listed help teachers and students provide a language rich environment by talking with students during play time and it also teaches social emotional skills that student learn through play. They also provide an amazing opportunity for students to build their fine motor skills, which in return they will then be able to cut, accomplish self help skills, and write.
