Let’s Get Cozy!!

Thank you again for supporting me in getting these resources for my classroom. My students love the new resources in the classroom. The resources are used for my cozy area. My students use the resources to relax and distress from unwanted emotions they are experiencing at the moment. During our morning routine, the students that finish breakfast early go into the cozy area and use the resources to sit and read, play with a soft toy, or just to think.

The first time my students saw the resources on the first day of the school. The resources are placed in the cozy area of the classroom. I introduced the cozy area to my students during the first week of school. I explained to my students how they can use in the resources while they are in the cozy area and also explain how not to use the resources, such as jumping on the bean bags, so that they can always remain safe.

In my class, we have been working on a class lesson about emotions. During the lesson, we discussed the emotion of anger and sadness. In the coming weeks, we will talk about various strategies on how to help us overcome our anger and sadness and how we can utilize the resources in the cozy area for resolving negative emotions.
