    I work in a very low income and low resources school district. We recently just found out the our budget is being cut from $158,000 to $50,000 this next coming school year. We lack very basic resources like pencils, notebooks, backpacks, and much, much more. Often, our students feel like they do not matter because we aren't able to provide them with what they need to succeed. I want to show my students that their community cares about them and their education. I ask on behalf of my students, please show them that they are cared for, and that KINDNESS does exist in a world, who has shown them otherwise.”

I’m a first year teacher working a HS Resource Sped classroom. I want to show my kids that they are worthy and deserving of having brand new supplies to work with. Having new supplies gets them excited and ready to engage in assignments and with their classmates. These supplies will be used during school ours and not just in my classroom. This will provide them the necessary supplies they will need for their other classes. Having something as little as a brand new pencil is something that can spark excitement and a willingness to learn.

About my class
