It is important that students have a wide variety of engaging books that represent readers from all backgrounds. They can use books as mirrors to their own lives or windows into the lives of others from different cultures and beliefs. Every student deserves the opportunity to read books that excite them. The books I have chosen are books with stories that are moving and inspiring. Since many of the books are graphic novels, they will entice both students who love reading as well as those who don't love reading yet.
