  • The Season of Warmth!

    Funded Dec 15, 2023

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving back to my classroom. Working in a title 1 school shows you that many of the students have a rough home life. Many students come without supplies, without water bottles, and without food.

For a winter gift I wanted a practical yet fun gift. Thanks to your help, we were able to provide each student with a blanket to keep them warm. I'm addition we were even able to get them personalized with every child's name on their very own blanket. Every child was over the moon thrilled. I could not thank you enough for giving these students a gift that will last them a lifetime.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stino

  • All I Want for Christmas is Water!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

You have no idea how much your donation means to me. My classroom is located in Sanford, Florida. With us being in Florida, it is summer pretty much 85% of the year. Bringing a water bottle to school is essential. It's essential because our kids not only need water through out the day, but they engage in activities such as P.E. and recess. I work at a title 1 school and about 20% of my students come to class with a water bottle. This project was soo important to me. With your donation I was able to give each child a personalized water bottle that they could use through out the year and for the years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stino

  • Turning Basic Into Fun

    Funded Oct 27, 2022

I want to take the time to thank you yet again for donating to my classroom. You have no idea how much this means to me and my students. The classroom is like a home. For students, the classroom is their second home for 10/12 months. This needs to be a place where they feel warm and welcomed. Your donation is helping me create that environment. With the card stock and lamination I was able to add more things to our walls including some affirmation reminders.

Their homework every week utilizes a piece of colored paper for their newsletter. You would be amazed at how excited these students get just to see what color the newsletter is going to be. It's so amazing!!

I'm addition, with this donation I was able to get stamps for their graded assignments. Although second grade is a letter grade year, I really like to stamp so the students have something fun on their paper. They should be told they are "out of this world" or doing a "super duper job". I love doing this little things because they love it.

It's people like you that teachers are forever thankful for. The ones who help make these tiny little hearts grow, and their tiny little dreams come true:)”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stino

  • A Thirst For Learning

    Funded Jun 7, 2022

I want to first off thank you again for your generous donation to my classroom! You have no idea the difference you are making in these students lives.

Our language journal we use every single day. This is what we use for "morning work". They come into the classroom and do the section of that day, it has become part of our routine. It has been awesome using these are printing is something that we do not get to do whenever we want. These journals allow them to develop their language in a neat and orderly book.

The headphones are the BEST THING that happened out of this project. Students are suppose to bring headphones to school as we utilize Iready daily. However about 3 students per class actually bring them in. Again with being a title 1 school headphones can be expensive. This allowed me to provide headphones for every single one of my students and then some. I know even have extras for when headphones break they can be replaced.

The main idea and other reading related boxes are being used in centers and boy do they love it! I can tell that there reading is starting to improve and they are getting use to figuring out thing such as main idea, key details etc.

I thank you again for support me and my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stino

  • Growing Minds and Hearts

    Funded Aug 31, 2021

You have no idea what your donation means to me and the students. The growth these kids have made in 4 months is amazing!! The reading comprehension cards are allowing them to better understand read comprehension while still being engaged as they need to get the correct sound answer. The math manipulative is giving them a visual aspect to math which is key. Instead of just talking about it we are able to use these manipulatives and actually show it. The books that have been added to my reading library allow all students to find at least one book that meets their needs and peeks their interest. I am so grateful for your willingness and want to help students grow. Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Stino

I want to incorporate collaboration in my classroom with the use of Flex Create puzzles and creative flakes. These are STEM constructions that allow students to work together and stimulate their brains by creating various things. Money is a topic for 2nd grade students and the Money Hands on Teaching Kit will help my students in learning money and the differences between various coins. In addition the Magnetic ten Frames are used on my board as a counting display and the Linking Cubes are used to help count and create visual math equations. The Math Quiz Cards Complete Set has various topics that are used in 2nd grade. It will be utilized for small and large group instruction along with the power pens which help the students know if they answered the question correctly or incorrectly. I want my students hearts for each other to grow and to be able to recognize and celebrate each others differences. Books such as I Am Me, We All Belong, Gratitude is My Superpower, and Be Who You Were Meant To Be, we help me achieve this goal. My goal is to always have a book a student can read. The two First Little Readers packs allows me to add to my classroom library and make sure all students have a book they are able to enjoy. During small group instruction I work on reading comprehension and sight words. Items such as comprehension quiz cards, sight word flash cards, and sight word bingo allow me to work on these topics with students of various levels. As technology is being utilized in the classroom everyday headphones have become a necessity. These headphones are utilized any time my students are on the computer and helps students focus on the task at hand!
