Making Mistakes Without Fear

Funded Sep 2, 2021

Our classroom would like to thank you so much for your generosity! We use our whiteboards, markers, and erasers every day, thanks to you. Students who have had trouble focusing are engaged and excited to be part of what we are learning, and we use them across all subject areas. We answer questions and share ideas during morning meeting by writing and drawing on the boards, we practice spelling and phonics with ease, and we solve math problems, all without the stress of writing a wrong answer permanently. When we make mistakes, we acknowledge them, learn from them, erase, and get it right the next time.

Your donations have made a huge impact in emphasizing high expectations and growth mindset in our classroom. It is important that students know that their families, teachers, and other adults have high expectations for them. We know they can do anything if they work hard and have the supports that they need! Being able to learn from mistakes without being defined by them is a big part of holding high expectations and maintaining a growth mindset. Being able to learn from our mistakes, erase, and move on helps pass on that mindset to our students. Thank you so much for your donation, and for believing in our students!”

With gratitude,

Ms. Hunter
