  • Building Our Understanding of History Brick By Brick!

    Funded Sep 27, 2022

I am extremely grateful this project was funded. These tools will help portray history in a new light! We will use these donations to create art, read and write about history and how it has impacted us all. Thank you again for you all's support and well wishes! THANK YOU DONORSCHOOSE!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Morgan

  • Art and Anatomical Adventures!

    Funded Sep 6, 2021

As soon as we received our supplies , we dove right into cells and began building our own 3D simple cell tissues. In some of the images you will see our students using clay to model various cell structures.

When the students first saw the materials , you would have thought it was Christmas in the classroom. They were ready to use any and everything provided. It was really cool to see their interest shift immediately.

Next, we will begin building 3D modeled human bodies and body parts. We will use various crafts like clay, paint, pipe cleaners, plastic, fabric, balloons and other items to create realistic body parts that will simulate a human construct. Thank you all so much!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Morgan

This classroom project was brought to life by The Allstate Foundation and 2 other donors.
The use of art in general, is almost a daily activity in my classroom. I try to explain and teach information in as many forms of education, as possible. Using art to better understand concepts has also been shown to help students retain more information. Utilizing art will also pique the interests of my students who are more tactile learners as well. In anatomy, vocabulary and comprehension are key. Using clay to create various body parts, will show a deeper level of knowledge being displayed because each student will be expected to understand the different body organs and their responsibilities. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve student attention, you will ultimately be a major factor in helping these students reach academic proficiency. Whether it is painting on canvases, drawing, or creating life size models using clay, these materials are imperative for my students' success in anatomy.
