All reading materials requested will provide a designated space in the classroom for students to explore texts they are interested in. It will also provide the resources for students to find books to challenge their thinking while using decoding and phonics to read independently. The goal of this library is to make reading engaging without teacher involvement so students feel successful with their reading skills. The library books can be used with buddy reading and on own so students can self assess what they know as well as get help from peers with a challenging book. Plus, independent reading time for student to wind down from classwork is also vital.
