Each day my students will use the headphones and mic. My math students will use the headphones and mics during their digital and personalized learning. Students will hear the words that will improve reading comprehension and be more motivated to focus and achieve and succeed. Students will also use speech to text to answer questions and read their answers back to them. Hearing their own written words helps my students process and understand the question and their responses more.
Digital learning is excellent, but the need for hands-on learning is equally important. My students need a break from technology, and I have found that group and class activities motivate teamwork and leaders. I enjoy hearing the students collaborate and discuss different solutions. But, of course, the best is hearing one student keep the group on task.
Combining both digital learning and hands-on activities reinforces the Math standard. And students successfully master the skill before moving to the following math standard. Also, combining digital and hands-on activities can be revisited if the student cannot master the skill to relearn.
