  • Welcoming! Cozy! Back to Nature Classroom Environment!

    Thank you for your generosity and support to my classroom.

    My classroom is much more organized and cozy with the materials and resources you help support me with. The storage bins help me store the classroom's miscellaneous materials and it is very useful. The laminator and laminating sheets are a great help. There are a lot of vocabulary cards to laminate for each unit in pre-K. Also, there are a lot of picture cards for game boards that can last for years if they get laminated. We also made class books by laminating students' work to put in the library. Students love to see each others' drawn pictures and scribbles. Having their work laminated, students can flip through it without having to worry about ripping it.

    The cushions that the students are using help them maintain social distancing while providing them the comfort sitting on the floor. It's easy to wash and clean. My students loved those cushions when they first saw it. They expressed that it made them feel like sitting on the stump of a tree and it was "so cool".

Providing flexible seating and a cozy environment would cultivate so many benefits to little learners' physical health along with their emotional well-being. I am requesting the wood stump floor cushions so students can learn comfortably just like sitting in nature. Nature-themed ottoman storage and bins can help students feel warmer and calmed in an organized classroom. If students can have their own floor cushion, then they can maintain the social distancing while interacting in whole group lessons every day. It's also easier to sanitize and wash the cushion covers rather than a big rug, on a regular basis. With these resources, my students will be advanced in their socialization, productive conversation, engaged learning, and participation. The teepee play tent can encourage students to enjoy reading and spend a longer time in the reading center. With different decorations based on the curriculum theme, the teepee play tent can also be used in a dramatic center where students can be engaged in pretend play, thus promoting more conversation among their peers. With some puppets and stuffed animals, students would find the teepee play tent very comforting.
