  • CES Cougar Choir

    Funded Dec 21, 2022

Thank you for the materials you sent our choir! We are an AVID campus, and your contributions aided our students in organizing and taking notes for their songs and music theory study materials.

My mission for choir, is to prepare our students for middle school choir and its requirements. I am happy to say that the middle school choir director was pleased when they were informed of the preparations taking place. In addition, our campus principal was ecstatic to observe our students applying their AVID skills in the music room!

Thank you, again, for your assistance with the choir program!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. McMahon

  • Recorders for All!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

As a music educator, I want to say thank you for your generosity for this project. The students absolutely love the recorder attachment that allows their instrument to have a lower volume as they learn. In addition, my autistic students who cannot handle loud noises find it easier to be a part of the recorder lessons.

Donors like you have a special meaning to our campus, especially to our students and families who are economically disadvantaged. Your contributions open new doors for them.

    You are appreciated.”

    Mr. McMahon

  • Deskbells For the Beginning Music Learners

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

We are truly grateful for the donations made! The bells that were purchased helps our students to associate the colors to the sounds when playing music. The interactive games and stations help students to become more independent when playing. I have seen a huge success with my English Learners and SPED students as well!

These bells are one of my many instruments that I am gathering to help prepare the students for band and choir. Every donation will ensure that each of my students are included.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. McMahon

  • Headsets for the Music Learners!

    Funded Nov 20, 2021

I could not thank you enough for this wonderful opportunity you have given our students. In our classroom, we use iPads for music creation apps and for playing along to songs on keyboard instruments. As you can imagine, it can be quit noisy when you have over 25 unique keyboard players playing at once. This also allows our students to work without being disturbed by their fellow classmates.

If you are not aware, our campus is a Title 1 campus. This means, for many of our students, they come from economically disadvantaged home lives, where access to instruments is not common. That said, our campus had made it our mission to give our students as much access to technology as possible. From the photos I shared, you will find our students working in small groups as well as independent on their keyboard skills. Our students have found much success from being able to tune in on their own instruments without having to hear their classmate thanks to your donations of our headsets.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. McMahon

  • Music Is Key for Learning: Keyboards for My Classroom

    Funded Oct 26, 2021

I could not thank you enough for this wonderful opportunity you have given our students. When my students saw the keyboards for the first time, they could not contain their excitement!

If you are not aware, our campus is a Title 1 campus. This means, for many of our students, they come from economically disadvantaged home lives, where access to instruments is not common. That said, when they were able to play for the first time, they were focused, willing to learn, and left every day wanting to learn more. To my excitement, there were students who are cosidered low level learners that were able to exceed my expectations for playing simple melodies, finger techniques and rhythm. Having these instruments has opened a whole world of learning and musical connections for my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. McMahon

  • Water Bottles for All!

    Funded Oct 18, 2021

Thank you so much for everything you do for students and educators! We are so excited to provide our students with reusable water bottles. When our students found out that they would be getting something to keep and call their very own they got ecstatic. I am working with our teachers to provide those with a higher need and have found that these will make a huge difference in our students lives this year. The students are excited to chose their own color and start decorating their bottle to make it personal to themselves.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. McMahon

Every day my students inspire me to do more for them. They have the itch to learn all the instruments I have in my classroom. However, I had a student who struggles with their behavior and did not want to learn. One day, upset, the student came up to me and asked if I could teach him the piano. Of course I jumped on the opportunity! Over time, I gave him a few lessons and from then on, he was inspired to keep going on his own. When others observed and heard him, they wanted to learn themselves and even went as far as asking that one student for lessons. Seeing the student become a teacher was a heartfelt moment for me. From this, I knew I had to find some way to give them all an opportunity to play. Imagine each student with an instrument in their hand, playing along to their favorite melody, enjoying every moment, without a worry in the world. That is my goal for my students.
