I truly appreciate the gifts that you have given to myself and the students in my class. Having a printer makes it possible to have "teachable moments" to build upon instead of waiting to submit for copies from the office. The Elmo projects student work instantly so that we can learn from each other's mistakes and to highlight a student's masterpieces. Our guided reading books are just what we need for the children to reach the demanding level D by the end of the year.

This classroom project was brought to life by The Allstate Foundation and 4 other donors.

Due to covid, these new Kindergartners spent the entire last year at home learning remotely. I’m sure that the standard of reaching a level D by the end of Kindergarten will not be negotiable. The Elmo will help me deliver an excellent Shared Reading lesson. I will be able to enlarge the text so that everyone can see. The printer is so that I can either remediate or enrich in the moment. The leveled books are so that I can send home with them books at and above their reading level to support the work done in class.
