Treat Your Shelves to a Good Book
Funded Oct 29, 2023Thank you so much for thinking of me this week! This makes my teacher heart so happy! I can't wait to tell the kids on Monday that we're getting new books for our classroom library! Adding new titles with diverse main characters is just what the shelves need in 2023! Funded Jan 11, 2023Technology plays a significant role in enriching the educational journey of students during their time at school. Through the integration of technology, students are exposed to interactive learning experiences that actively engage their minds and enhance their understanding of different subjects. Our educational programs foster a deeper level of comprehension and I'd like to think they make learning an enjoyable adventure. Furthermore, technology allows my students to have easy access to a vast array of information and resources, empowering them to conduct research, explore digital libraries, and dive into educational websites. This access to knowledge expands their learning horizons beyond the confines of traditional textbooks. Additionally, technology offers multimedia resources such as videos, images, and audio clips that supplement classroom instruction and cater to diverse learning styles. By utilizing technology, fourth graders have the opportunity to explore, discover, and acquire knowledge in innovative and exciting ways, nurturing their curiosity and enthusiasm for learning!
Individual student headphones can significantly contribute to helping students stay focused during their learning activities. By wearing headphones, students can minimize external distractions and block out background noises. This helps create a quieter and more controlled learning environment, allowing students to concentrate on their tasks without being disturbed by surrounding sounds or conversations. With individual headphones, students can experience improved audio clarity. This is particularly beneficial when listening to educational videos and our school learning programs. Overall, individual student headphones provide a valuable tool for minimizing distractions, promoting personalized learning and gives students a sense of ownership and responsibility for their learning.”

Flexible Seating for Fantastic Students
Funded Aug 27, 2022Everyone was so excited the day they arrived and instantly they were a hit! Students sit on them as their seat at a desk or a table. I believe in choice in the classroom and giving my students a choice with their seating options is something that I feel strongly about. We as adults have learned that we learn and work harder when we're focused and set up for success. Wobble stools allow students to move as they listen, work, and create! The school day is long and our schedule has four hours of learning in the AM before lunch. Having these stools has been a lifesaver for my more hyperactive students during the long blocks of time in the school day. Each month different students are given the opportunity to sit on the wobble stools.
During fall conferences, I allowed the parents to sit on the wobble stools. One mom commented that she would have loved it as a kid. Another parent said she wished that her son had these in his classroom because he can't sit still in a seat.
Again, thank you for your donation towards the wobble stools! Your generous contribution to my classroom for the 22-23 school year is very much appreciated. My 22 students get to enjoy them this school year and so will my future classes. The great thing about these stools is they are very durable! They are perfect for kids! They can withstand the daily wear and tear of students and being in an elementary school all day.
Teaching takes a community and thank you for being part of my community. Thank you for caring about my classroom, but most importantly my students!”

Funded Sep 24, 2021When the books arrived, the students were so excited! I loved being able to share with them that people who love books donated them to our classroom! So many students made comments about how it was so nice of them to do that for us and I agree! It's always great for kids to see that people do acts of kindness and can be very generous.
We are loving the books! The Crossover by Kwame Alexander has been the biggest hit with the different reading groups. They all say it's written differently but it makes it more enjoyable to read. All of the books are sparking awesome conversations within the reading groups. Having authentic texts has made a bunch of students excited to read and they even say, "Now reading groups are fun!" For one of my groups that needs additional support, I am reading the book with them during their small group time. It's a great time to model fluent reading and allows for rich conversations with authentic texts!
We can't thank you enough for your donation! The books that were purchased are being loved by my students and they will be for years to come!”

Funded Aug 29, 2021I still can't thank you enough for donating to my classroom! It means so much to me that you support students and a teacher in what is turning out to be another difficult year in schools. This project is reaching at least 24 kids this year and will continue to be enjoyed by each class in the future! Because they are sturdy and well built, they can handle the wear and tear of kids.
The wobble stools are used every day by so many students! Some kids get to sit on a wobble stool for the whole school day! The wobble stools replace the traditional chairs at desks. It allows their little bodies to actively listen and work. It is the most requested type of seat in my classroom! Then there are two wobble stools at my center table so when they come to the small group table for both math and reading, they get to wobble and learn. There are some special occasions in the room or indoor recess days where students choose to sit on the stools so it allows them to have movement breaks. For one student in particular, he uses it as a break chair. He wobbles for 3-5 minutes and it helps him to go back into the green (happy and content) zone or it helps him to refocus during independent work times. My students absolutely LOVE the wobble stools!”
