All the materials will be used to help students obtain self awareness and self soothing techniques. This will allow them to detect when they maybe in a stressful situation and how to calm down after that situation. Along with self soothing, students will use many of the sensory items to learn functional skills such as getting ready in the morning, how to use different technology pieces, and how to respect different pieces of furniture. Each of our students would greatly benefit from access to different sensory objects, lighting, furniture, and tasks.
