Visual and physical manipulatives help bi and tri-lingual students make tactile connections between what they are learning and how to put those concepts into functional language. Some of my students are from Spanish-speaking households and are learning English and have not quite mastered the organization of two languages. Some of my students are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and may only receive sign support and English spoken language together at school.
Most of my students come from low Socioeconomic Status households and have not been exposed to or had the opportunities other children have had. Help me give them the best opportunities in Speech and Language therapy to bring them meaningful communication with these helpful tools to work on their individual goals.
