    Thank you so much for your donation to my attendance incentives project! As a teacher on the south side of Chicago, I have quickly learned the value and importance of daily attendance for students.

    Attendance is imperative for student learning. Not only does attendance play a huge role in a student's academic success, it also has a profound impact on their social and emotional learning and ability to build connections with their peers.

    In order to capitalize on the importance of attendance, our school does weekly attendance prizes for students who had perfect attendance. Students work so hard at school and are always thrilled to receive a prize at the end of the week.   • See Second Grade Soar

    Thank you so much for your contribution to my project and your continual support of my classroom. I love teaching and having classroom resources that my students use and love every day is amazing.

    The students in my classroom LOVE their new seat sacks that this project provided them with. They really enjoyed decorating their name tag for their new seat sack. These are great tools that my students use every day to help keep their belongings organized.

    Additionally, I am so grateful for the new headphones that we received. This allowed me to provide headphones for students who didn't previously have any and helped them tremendously with their digital learning.

  • See You Later Second Grade!

    My students LOVED the new choice time activities that your donations provided for our classroom. Having STEM building blocks and magnatiles gives students a chance to be creative during their short free time at the end of the day.

    Many of my students had not used Magnatiles before, and they quickly became the coveted choice time activity. It is so cool to see all of the creations that my students come up with.

    Thank you so much for your contributions! Our school understands the importance of attendance and the direct impact that it has on student learning. This donors choose project brought smiles to so many student's faces. Every week, we give out a "Perfect Attendance" prize. Students who had perfect attendance that week get their name put in a raffle and 2 names are called each week. Each of these resources will serve as a tool to enhance my students learning in the classroom. My students LOVE using their dry erase boards as a learning resource. We use dry erase boards frequently to practice phonics and to solve math problems. Right now, my students use kleenex to erase their boards each time, and so reusable dry erasers will be a huge improvement! Similarly, we are starting to move into guided reading, and therefore highlighters will be a great resource for students to have for annotating the text. It is crucial that the students are able to cite strong evidence, and the highlighters will help students be able to quickly note evidence and then be able to go back and revisit it later. Finally, my students are amazingly creative. During our indoor recess each day, they are eager to do coloring sheets or to free draw. I would love to provide each student with a pack of markers to not only use for free time but to also use to help with math and reading. Providing each student with markers will allow them to use them in math by using different colors to represent different components of story problems and much more. My students deserve the best education, and by providing them with these additional learning resources it will brighten up their day as well as make their learning even more meaningful to them.
