  • Our Math Class Needs "Sum" Organizational Supplies!

    Funded Dec 1, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my project. This allows my students and I the ability to thrive in the classroom environment with our necessary supplies.

The sticky notes have already been a huge hit, between students using them when they forget their agenda, to communicating with others about their work. The binders have allowed several students the means to organize their work.

Our favorite by far has been the pencil sharpener. Our previous electric pencil sharpener gave out several months ago, leaving us with only the hand-held kind which are easily jammed. The speed in which we are able to sharpen our pencils has allowed us more time to solve division problems with smiles all around!

I can not express my gratitude enough. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Butler

  • Picture (Books) Are Worth a Million Words!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you so much for the wonderful materials. The books were thoroughly enjoyed and my students appreciated all of the incentives. The rest of the year was excellent--all thanks to the support we received from you!

Books were available in our classroom library for students to pick out and enjoy. These books represented cultures and people that I could not find enough of already in my classroom. These were great additions and my students loved them so much! It was great getting to see them enjoy them.”

    With gratitude,

  • Help Budding Learners

    Funded Aug 22, 2021

My students were so excited to see all of the new books in our classroom. When the books first arrived in the classroom, I was able to have a read aloud of the book "Hair Love". At the end, I asked their thoughts of the book and they all loved it--my students also loved to share their text-to-self connections! In addition, they were excited to familiarize themselves with the Time for Kids materials we now have available to us. They were fascinated by a recent issue about Volcanoes and were commenting about how bright the lava looks! Students now are more excited about reading time than they were before. Thank you so much!”

  • Positivity and Accessibility: The Keys to Success!

    Funded Sep 8, 2021

My students were so excited to see all of the fun prizes they can cash in their points for. Every Friday, they've been excited to see what they can trade in their points for. Some of them have already used their points to trade in for one or more of these awesome gifts! A class-favorite so far has been the stickers. In addition, I have been working on better visuals and clearer labels so students will be able to easily find their way around the classroom. One technique I have implemented has been new center boards using the laminate sheets. The students look forward to seeing where their name has been moved on the center board for their activities that day. Thank you so much again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Butler

As a new teacher, I would like to build up my resources to provide them with experiences that run parallel to the curriculum content, and that investigate their personal interests. I would like the build up part of my classroom library with different and new authors and texts, as well as offer flexible seating for diverse learners. By adding books such as I Am Enough and Little Leaders: Women in Black History, my students will be able to master a sense of self and acceptance, as well as believe in their abilities as learners and members of the community.
