  • Fuel Learning Through Belly

    It is difficult for me to explain how amazing of a donation this was. Our students come from very low income households where many go many meals without eating. Our school provides their breakfast and lunch, but not a snack. Many of our students would go days without bringing a snack and my heart would hurt because I knew they may not be eating when they go home either.

    You provided the opportunity for EVERY child to eat a snack before they go home. This also helps the positive climate of the classroom letting the students know this is a place they are safe, and taken care of. Thank you for your generosity!”

  • Christmas for the Little Ones!

    I wish I could have had the video uploaded, but the students were beyond excited about their wonderful gifts. After the students went home the parents were in tears thanking s for the generosity for Christmas, but we informed them it was YOU that was generous to donate to the students.

    Each boy received a monster truck toy and the girls received the Barbie reveal. We included many Christmas theme activities for the day to go along with it, but the students had no idea! Thank you so much for making this Christmas a special one for the students!”

  • Future Leaders

    From the moment the students saw our materials you provided to us they were beyond excited to get started making art projects. We brainstormed ideas of things we can create using the materials in our art center. We also, discussed different things we would be able to practice writing using the dry erase markers.

    The students daily use the dry erase markers in the morning to practice tracing their names. Already over half of our class has perfected their first name, and is working on their last name now. Also, on Fridays we practice, as a class, writing the letter of the week. The students enjoy this because they work together on constructing the letters.

    Lastly, our crayons have been sent home to assist in family involvement projects. So far we have had the students complete an "All about me" activity, disguise the pumpkin activity, and disguise the turkey activity with their family. This has helped make the parents feel more involved and the students proud of their work.”

The students will be able to take the crayons and markers home to continue practice. Many do not have the materials they need to even practice writing their name. We teach the fundamentals of literacy and my students deserve materials that are comfortable for their tiny hands and allows them the opportunity to creatively show their thinking. After having virtual students last year it is obvious how important hands on instruction is.

About my class
