I teach 6th grade 'Project Based Learning' World History, where students create projects at the end of each unit rather than take a test. These projects vary, consisting of power point presentations, Video movies , 3D model creations and poster layouts. All regarding the historic wonders of the ancient world. During this unprecedented time when technology is the foundation for learning, my students will have the ability to create projects and navigate the classroom digitally using the iPad technology. My scholars will explore historical content such as the Great Wall of China, become Egyptian Pharaohs, and delve into the story of the first homo sapiens to roam the earth. Many of my young scholars have the desire to make creative projects digitally, yet lack the resources to do so. Not only will the iPad tablets expand student learning, it will ensure students are limiting their access to paper, markers and other supplies that could potentially lead to Covid-19 exposure. Technology will also support scholars with online learning if needed. Students will be able to collaborate, construct, and engage in a modern world as the iPad becomes a dynamic assistive technology.
