Curing Nature Deficit and Improving Emotional Wellness in K-6 Students
Funded Nov 14, 2023The excitement of spring is all over Lorton Station Elementary School and throughout our classrooms.
The kindergarten students who planted spring bulbs back in November are celebrating the flowers that are popping out of the ground! When we return from Spring Break next week kindergarten will be taking the sensory ribbon chimes out to the garden beds to celebrate.
The sixth grade AAP classes have been out to put together the bird feeder and put the new raised garden beds together. All of the students who participated were thrilled to have the use of real garden tools! They have been spreading the word about how the enjoyed working in the garden area. They utilized our new garden gloves and happily pulled garden weeds! Everyone wants to join Mrs. McG's Garden Club!
The "Seeds have been planted!" Thank you for supporting this nature adventure!”
With gratitude,
Ms. McGuinness
