  • Dramatic Play in Kindergarten

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

This dramatic play center has been an absolute favorite of my students this year. When I set out the first station, students were so excited to get to try out the new materials and creations. It has been a blast to see students use their creativity and imagination to make their own signage, money, menus, and pieces to go along with each of the centers. I am so thankful for the generous donations that have made this magical part of our day possible. Each month, I am so excited to put out the new station and as soon as students walk through the classroom doors, they go check out the new area and begin to converse about how they are going to interact with it during free choice time. We are beyond grateful for this wonderful addition to our Kindergarten classroom, thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leifer

  • Access to Literacy and Math in Kindergarten With Kindle

    Funded Jan 30, 2022

Thank you so much for this project! I am so thankful that my students now have access to technology in the classroom and are excited about accessing literacy and math tools in the classroom in a differentiated way. This access has allowed students to begin to practice skills independently and access tools. I am looking forward to continuing to use this resource with my future classes as well to access decodable readers, math practice, reading skills within reading groups, and Pebble Go during our nonfiction writing unit. I am so thankful for this incredible generosity that this project has allowed. Thank you!”

  • Kindergarten Counting Collections

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

These counting collections have been transformational in my Kindergarten classroom. By having access to these engaging, fun, and supportive math manipulatives, my students are able to engage in counting collections to support their diverse individual goals in a fun and exciting way. I am so thankful for this project and I am really looking forward to continuing to use these with my classroom this year but in years to come as well. The manipulatives pictured along with some of the other tools not shown in the pictures have continued to excite my students about learning! Thank you SO MUCH!”

  • Sensory Tools and Supports for Active Learners

    Funded Sep 30, 2021

Wow, it has been so incredible to have these fabulous resources in our Kindergarten classroom. The students were ecstatic to see the new wobble chairs back at our small group table and love utilizing them throughout the day as needed. The wobble chairs have been such a helpful support for students. The sensory tools and items have also been a huge hit in the classroom. It has been exciting to see students develop self-awareness as they select strategies they need and when they need them throughout the day with these tools. I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support to our Kindergarten classroom. These supports have made such a difference this year, thank you so very much! :)”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Leifer

My students are energetic and excited. They love learning about everything and want to be and feel successful. With increased sitting, additional support is needed. Studies show that some students need far more movement while they learn than others. Students of diverse needs also require diverse tools to support their sensory needs, tools, etc. Movement while learning has been shown to help students focus, especially our "wiggly" students with ADHD. We need to adapt a bit to make it so that they can get movement in while allowing them to stay in their workspace AND wiggle at the same time with these wobble chairs. This will help our classroom be inclusive, calm, and productive. Wiggling while they work will help our students become active learners, process and retain more information, and be more successful. We do our best with what we have, but sometimes that isn't enough to help our students who need it the most. Sensory tools support learners in the classroom to ensure that their needs are met and they are set up for success to learn. Thank you for considering having a helping hand in the education of our students!
