Growing My "Library-of-Materials" for My Students

Funded Aug 26, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donations. These last few months have been filled with engaging, hands-on learning during my speech therapy sessions thanks to you! Through the help of your generous donations, my students were able to work on vocabulary skills (i.e., synonyms and antonym match-ups), basic concepts (i.e., prepositional/positional phrases), along with reading comprehension strategies (i.e., inferencing, predicting, visualizing, making connections, etc) - to name a few!

One item that has stood out with my younger elementary students is the Lakeshore Alphabet Tub Box. This box allowed my students to target letter-sound correspondences as well as their articulation skills. Having these real-life objects/toys allowed my students to make real-life connections. Another item that has stood out with my younger elementary students is the Lakeshore Categorizing activity box. This activity has allowed my students to learn all about categorization and associations between objects as well as within stories.

One last item that has stood out with my older elementary students are the Reading Comprehension Strategy posters that are hung up on my bulletin boards. My students are now excited, willing, and able to go over to my bulletin board and choose a reading comprehension strategy that we target in speech therapy.

I cannot wait to continue using these resources for the many years to come! Thank you for generosity!”

With gratitude,

Ms. K
