With the influx of digital and multimodal spaces that our students face today, it is important for them to be able to engage and learn about visual literacy. This is possible with the use of graphic novels. With these materials, my students will be able to engage in a multiliterate classroom and decipher and decode what it means to understand the impact of images and words. In order to read graphic novels, readers must first know how to read them. By helping them understand how to read this genre, it will help with the visual world in which they live.
