  • Help Me Make My New Classroom Feel Like Home!

    Funded Jul 21, 2023

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! My students loved the items that we received due to your donations. We utilize them daily! Because of your support, I have been able to create an inviting, and visually supportive classroom for my students. We now have posters that provide instructional support and dry erase boards for every single student to practice their language skills. Additionally, the curriculum supplies that I received have been a huge asset in creating challenging and engaging lessons.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Searl

  • Creating a Connection Between Art and Literature

    Funded Aug 28, 2021

My students and I are so grateful for your generosity! Due to shipping delays, some of the items in this Donor's Choose have changed. My students are using their new Goosebumps books daily during independent reading time. I have noticed a significant increase in student interest since purchasing these books. We also received plenty of classroom fidgets. These items are providing each of my students with stress and anxiety relief during their seat work. My students were very excited to receive their new items.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Searl

If this project is fully funded, my students will have the opportunity to create a variety of art through literature experiences. For example, during our poetry unit, students will make origami creations as we read Fold Me a Poem by Cristine Goerge. When my scholars study literary devices, they will use crayons and more to draw point-of-view examples. Students will also use art supplies to illustrate scenes from short stories, novels, and personal narratives that we explore throughout the school year. Access to art supplies will provide my students with memorable opportunities that remain with them beyond the classroom.
