Sometimes when we see a play kitchen in a classroom, we only see it as a toy and a place for children to play. And it absolutely is! But it is also a place where they learn. They learn social skills by interacting with their peers and they learn that their creativity and imagination are important valued qualities. Kindergarteners are just starting their academic careers and they are still so young! They need to be able to come into the classroom and feel free to play and be silly and be creative!
