Technology Today, Will Keep Illiteracy at Bay!
Funded Oct 17, 2016Words cannot express our gratitude! Thank you, for your generous donation. The tablets you have provided have made a positive impact in my classroom and will continue to make a difference for years to come. The tablets have enabled students to conduct research while in small group settings inside, and outside of the classroom. Outside students are using the tablets to monitor our edible garden, document the growth of their plants, and vegetables, complete classroom assignments, or access computer tutorials.
Students love the fact that they are mobile with these devices and are able to access the school's WI-Fi network and work around campus. They can research, and work outdoors in the South Florida sunshine.
The English Language Learners are the one group that have especially warmed up to the tablets. They grab these tablets and google translate almost everything. They work in teams and help each other complete their daily tasks.
The tablets have been an amazing addition to room 22!”
With gratitude,

Radical Readers
Funded Oct 23, 2015Education and Technology go hand in hand and your generous donation has made a positive impact in my classroom. Students are more excited about reading and want to pick up the Kindles every moment they can. The Kindles are infusing students' love for technology with the development of a love for Reading.
Students are thrilled to be reading an on-line version of the novel we are Reading in class. They love the fact that they can move through pages with the touch of their finger tips. The Kindles are assisting in the development of vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension. Students are motivated to read using the Kindles.
The Kindles you donated have made the biggest impact with the English Language Learners (ELL). They are benefiting from the easy access to the on-line dictionary and developing new vocabulary skills. These students are also benefiting by reading some the novels in their native language and then reading them in English. This is facilitating the acquisition new vocabulary and comprehension. They have developed a positive attitude about learning to read in another language.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. C.
