  • Mrs. Sieczkowski’s Take-Home Math Backpack Project

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you SO MUCH for your generous donations toward my Take-Home Math Back Pack Project. My families love having the opportunity to practice with their kids in a fun way! I've had parents specifically request skills they've noticed their child struggling on with homework. It's nice to see their enthusiasm! It's also a fun way to practice retention of old skills. The bags are small enough that students can easily put them inside their normal book bags and transport back and forth between school and home.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sieczkowski

  • Mrs. Sieczkowski's Math Warriors

    Funded Oct 6, 2021

Thank you SO much for your donations toward our math warriors supplies! It has made our center time exciting for the students! They really enjoy using the hands-on games to review basic math skills to help supplement our curriculum. They get really competitive playing the multiplication/division towers games as well as the multiplication/division splash games! Due to the COVID-19 quarantine during their early elementary years, these basic skills continue to be a weakness. Playing games and reviewing on a regular basis with different activities is helping to improve those gaps. Additionally, our more advanced students are enjoying the challenge of solving word problem games, budgeting money and testing their knowledge with the grade-level skills we haven't introduced in class yet. I am so happy to see my students push themselves every day to get better!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sieczkowski

Materials purchased through donations will be used to provide hands-on math experiences in my classroom. During small group math, students spend time reviewing skills learned in class. These centers will provide them with new opportunities to show their knowledge of concepts. They love opportunities to change things up and try new activities. Students with IEPs participate within my classroom and will flourish with the opportunity to have a variety of learning experiences. These students spend time reviewing skills specified in their IEP goals. When benchmarking our students, we try to provide fun practice to make it a more enjoyable experience!
