Lakota children often learn through many methods, one of them is through sensory play. Using individual bins, a variety of different materials, beads, magnetic letters, and many other items, my students can use their hands to explore letters and words to help solidify their learning and develop fine motor skills!
Sensory play is a vital part of Kindergarten skills development and is a useful tool to help assist learning. These bins are universal to our standards and can easily change throughout the year to match what we are learning. These bins also offer my students some choice in how they are learning by picking the materials in their bins and how to be using them to continue learning at their level.
