My students love to play! Last year, our classes spilled into the hallway to create room for rehearsal while we acted out scenes. This year we got rid of the desks so we could add set pieces and a stage in the classroom for performance based assignments (which they are extremely excited about)! Currently, we use chromebooks for sharing information and much more. When students work on productions, they are able to research historical relevance, illustrate theatrical designs, write monologues and scenes, and much more. Within the past year or so, laptops have become fully integrated into our lessons, assignments, and our classroom culture. The laptop desks will be an awesome addition to our fluid classroom. Right now, my students are using their laps to provide stability for their chromebooks. With your help, students will be able to comfortably complete school assignments without concern for devices heating up on their laps (which in turn can damage hardware). They will have the convenience to work from anywhere, no longer chained to a desk. The possibilities are endless! This project will enhance the classroom environment while also providing spacious, stable, and practical support no matter where students decide to sit.
