The students I serve have auditory, visual processing deficits, and some metacognitive deficits; therefore, I frequently create tools to provide my students with tactile experiences. I also create several reference tools and make students carry daily agendas. I provide them with flexible seating options and fun engaging in-class activities. My students appreciate easy to use systems that keep them organized and engaged. The books we will focus on this year will not only teach them about social justice, but are also easy to follow- given that their reading levels vary. The bean bag will be placed next to the class couch so that students have seating options. I use mastery learning and grading in my classroom in order to give my students every chance to succeed. I have my students track their progress towards their learning targets and keep evidence of their progress in their classroom binder. The 15 drawer rolling cart will store class the students materials such as worksheets, agenda paper, lined papers etc. It will also store our class set white boards and expo markers for class activities. The 3 tier rolling cart will be used to hold pencils, pens, crayons and other engaging classroom materials (kagan tools). My school is very helpful and they do give us funds for materials, but there is so only so much to go around. In addition, the pencils and paper are for everyday use. My students rarely come prepared to class, they hardly ever have something to write with and something to write on. I find myself refilling the pencil holder and paper tray on a bi-weekly basis. I never deny my students materials when they ask for them. I would really appreciate some help with getting these materials for my classroom.
