When a student walks into a classroom, they immediately begin to gain insight by looking at their environment. Are the walls bare? Is the desk messy? What does my teacher think is important enough to display? Our walls and organization tell students how we view them, ourselves, and our classroom philosophies. Students will be able to see decorations that highlight them and our class goals the minute they walk into my room. The use of my Cricut will be versatile; it will highlight student achievement, organize the class, emphasize important concepts, and give students creative freedom. Already, my plans include creating a wall to show off my debate student's NSDA points, creating a display of student work, posters for writing a well-developed thesis, organizing our daily agenda, and having my students make water-bottle stickers to remember their favorite moments in my class. I believe that creating a welcoming, organized, and clean learning space invites students to do their best and treat others with mutual respect.
